King's Lake Camp

Mar 7, 2017 | by Thomas Brown

Located in the heart of Alaska's beautiful Mat-Su Valley, The Salvation Army's King's Lake Camp provides an opportunity for children from all over Alaska to learn more about nature and grow closer to God.

"I loved playing with friends and strengthening my relationship with Jesus." - Grace

Our program at King's Lake Camp is intended to help young people develop new skills, instill a sense of self-confidence, promote positive social interactions, and discover God's creation. As The Salvation Army is part of the universal Christian Church, each camping session includes fun, captivating, and age-appropriate Bible instruction. It could be through fun lessons, memorizing bible verses, or singing silly songs, but your kids will have the chance to draw closer to God in a new and very real way.

King's Lake Camp programs 2017:

1. Music Camp (Ages 9-17, June 17-24) - For kids who want to master their skill or learn the basics. While predominately brass and vocal, percussion, timbrels, keyboard, and guitar instruction highlight a week full of music and other regular camp activities.

2. S.A.Y. Camp (Ages 7-12, June 26-30) - A camp based on The Salvation Army scouting programs. Here campers expand their knowledge of the world around them by working on troop badges, having fun, and meeting new people.

3. Kid's Camp (Ages 7-12, July 10-14, July 25-28) - Join us this summer for a week of active outdoor fun with swimming, archery, crafts, campfires, canoeing, and more. This is an activity focused program perfect for all interests.

4. Teen Camp (Ages 13-17, July 17-21) - Meet new friends and enjoy many activities such as swimming, archery, canoeing and much more in a camp geared especially for teens who are looking for an exciting camp experience.

"The archery was so cool. So were the cabins. It reminded me of the old west!" - Jayden

King's Lake Camp provides children with the opportunity to learn new skills or improve upon old ones with a variety of activities such as archery, arts and crafts, boating, swimming, sports, and much more. In addition to this, all of our camps have nutritious USDA-approved meals and a well-trained staff to ensure that the week your child spends at King's Lake Camp is one of the best they have ever had!

"I really liked the food! And all the cool games we played, especially capture the flag!" - Avant
