Alaska Salvation Army Stands Ready to Assist Residents Following 7.0 Earthquake

Anchorage, AK – Today’s reported 7.0 quake and multiple aftershocks sent The Salvation Army Alaska Divisional Headquarters into action. During the following hours, The Salvation Army has been working closely with local emergency managers and community partners to gather information and determine how to serve the needs of Southcentral Alaskan residents.
In the Mat-Su Valley, our Salvation Army team is supporting response efforts, feeding individuals sheltering at the Curtis D. Menard Sports Recreational Center, including some stranded travelers waiting for roads to reopen.
The Salvation Army reminds individuals and families that presently everyone should remain calm, shelter in place, and stay tuned to local media for updates and information.
