FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: September 25, 2019

Anchorage, AK – Sunday, October 6 from 2 – 4 PM at the Hilton Anchorage, 500 W. 3rd Ave., hundreds of locally dressed teddy bears will be auctioned off at The Salvation Army’s 20th Anniversary Teddy Bear Tea. Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to dress in your smart casual traditional high tea attire and show support for The Salvation Army’s year-round critical social service programs in Alaska.

From Teddy Bear categories like ‘Bears in Season’, ‘Cultures Around the World’ and more, teddy bears will be sold in live and silent auctions at the tea with some bears including donated goods and gift certificates from local Alaskan businesses. Teddy Bear Tea provides an opportunity to learn about local Salvation Army programs, enjoy tea, coffee and finger foods and bid in live and silent auctions to help support The Salvation Army.

“We look forward to enjoying an afternoon with community members for a traditional English high tea and providing homes for the teddy bears that have been beautifully dressed by our supporting artists and friends.,” said Major Pamilla Brackenbury of The Salvation Army Alaska Division. “The bears we have received look amazing and we even have some bears with Alaska Native attire made with traditional materials.”

Donations are accepted and tickets for the event can be purchased online at https://give-ak.salvationarmy.org/2019teddybeartea or by calling 907-339-3426. Tickets are $30 for adults and $20 for children age 10 and under. Doors for the event will open at 1:30 PM.
